POST: Heart2Heart – Walking Shadow

“If I could turn back the hands of time, you my love, would be resting on my thighs” I said aloud.

***************
Four years of courtship… Six years of friendship… I felt beyond shattered. Marcus… Marcus… How did this even happen to us?

A few weeks back, me and my girls had gone to pick my wedding dress.
“You both are just perfect!” Gloria said excited
“I knew you both would finally be together! It was just a matter of time” Ada added.

I had never been happier my whole life but now… No.. But then… Like that week. Sigh.

My mum had even called me to the house to advise me about marriage and all the hullabaloos… It was Marcus… Marcus or no one else.

But what has become of me today? A walking shadow! Not the shadow you see when I’m happy… The type you see when I’m a faded version of my real self…

Marcus…

The tears and screams I’ve witnessed in the past one week is enough to pull down the world. I realize I’m even stronger than I thought I was.

Yet I stand… Amidst all odds. Everyone is staring… I’ve been lost in my own trance, 1.. 2.. 3 minutes? It was time. I let the dust fall on his coffin at last… More tears… More yells… More screams.

Adieu my love…

Please make use of the comment box :D and yeah, see you on friday!

Up & Coming: SouthPaw -Din Din Dara

SouthPaw who’s real name is Samuel Olojede Afolabi is an upcoming Nigerian rapper and a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University. Born and bred in the ancient town of Ibadan, the 22 year old lyricist SouthPaw attended Lead City High School  in Ibadan. He grew up listening to all kinds of music, hip-hop, soft rock, some bit of Soul and RnB before officially entering the music world as an artiste in 2008. While at university, he hooked up with the Incubation Factory Crew and has recorded a lot of songs to his credit. A fan of good and creative music no matter the genre, SouthPawcites Jay-Z and TuFace as his major influences in the music industry today. He is currently signed to Incubation Factory, a Record label/Label Imprint put together by Iredumare Opeyemi and Olusegun Oladapo.
SouthPaw steps to the mic with this song “Din Din Dara”  which was produced by another OAU protege Jchedda Laygiri. As he counts the society to be his influence, he paints the norms and the anomalies of the society on this joint. Din Din Dara basically means ‘Enjoyment‘. It was used in this song to mean that the Government enjoys at the expense of the suffering masses. He says on the chorus “Fly to Abuja while I walk to mile 12, waste Eva water while I drink ice water, Everybody suffer while they Din Din Dara”. Listen up and enjoy!

New Gbedu: Jaycube – My Type

As soon as “Jay Cube” belted out his featured song in perfect tune, he left his fans in awe and heart on the stage after every performance. This is because music has always been a passion burning inside this youthful, yet mature artist. Folajimi Oyeneyin was born into a musical family where his father was a choir maste…r and his mother was a choir mistress. As the third born of five, the Washington DC native always had a love for performing. As a child, Folajimi sang in church; while he lived in Nigeria, he competed in various talent shows for singing and dancing, and the first place position was surely not a stranger.

Jay Cube  have had the pleasure of collaborating with various Nigerian artists, including Tonestar, X.O Senavoa, Apexx, Cap B, Lp (Dream Team), Oloye Mr. Money, Illegal Immigrants, Rukus, A cue, Emeazy, and many more. He has also worked with producers such as Kid konnect, Dee Tunes to mention a few.

He’s out with this new joint I like soooo much. Got it in my mail earlier today and I’ve been slamming it since then. He calls it My Type and the song was produced by Cheffy.
